This is it, the greatest season in our lives. These are the days that we will look back on and long for when they are gone ... the perfectly ordinary days.

Wind Storm
You may or may not have heard about our wind storm last Thursday night. Gratefully, we and our home survived. Although, I can't say that I got much sleep that night. As you can tell from the picture two postings ago we have several large trees behind our home. All night we watched them sway and bend with each gust of wind. Jared and I laid in bed and predicted which ones could take out our house if they fell our direction. Exciting pillow talk, huh! We did hear several branches hit our home (not windows, thank heaven) pretty hard and worried about damage to the exterior. One tree did fall. It was one we didn't think could hit our house and we were right! We lost power several times that night so we were pleasantly surprised to wake up to power the next morning. They estimated over a million people were without power and some (like my boss) have been told it most likely will not be back on until after Christmas. The next day we weren't so lucky. They turned our power off for the next 24 hours to repair surrounding power grids. Although our yards were full of branches twice my size, we are happy to report that we are among the lucky in the Pacific Northwest and had no real damage/loss.
